How it Works:
- Donors give money, goods, or services out of passion for the cause rather than receiving a product.
- Donors expect nothing material in return; they are driven by empathy or the desire for impact.
Key characteristics
- Builds community: It fosters a sense of community and connection between the organization and its supporters.
- Provides financial stability: Recurring donations, like those in a subscription model, can lead to more predictable revenue streams, allowing for better long-term planning.
- Requires compelling storytelling: Success often depends on clearly communicating the impact of donations and creating an emotional connection with potential supporters.
The method that I follow for some of my services is providing a suggested donation starting price of $15-20, which helps pay for materials and my labor costs.
I am currently partnering with a non-profit organization that follows the donation-based model. In the sunny state of California (Los Angeles), a non-profit organization called “Heal One World”. Visit their website to learn more about their mission and services.
I am working with them to teach ‘Mindful Crafternoon™’ classes. They will offer my clients and class participants donation-based wellness classes like Tai Chi, Yoga, and Reiki. I am also planning new classes with them for the New Year, so stay tuned!
I am really excited about this partnership, and I am looking to make many more in the near future! I am also excited about helping make the world a better place through wellness and art! Stay informed by subscribing to my newsletter on what I am doing and upcoming ‘Mindful Crafternoon’ classes.
